When you pay for a service on the Alura Market and it is accepted by the freelancer, we bill your credit card at that time and collect the funds from you. These funds are kept in an escrow account (a neutral account) until the work is completed and you are satisfied. This is for your protection and to ensure you get the work that has been agreed upon.

Once you have received the work from your freelancer, all revisions have been made and you are happy with the result, please “mark your order as completed.” This is a very important step as it closes the transaction and releases the funds to the freelancer. If you do not mark the order as complete, the payment to the freelancer is delayed and it prevents them from getting paid within a reasonable amount of time.

Please note that if you do not mark the order as complete after you receive the work this will only delay the funds being transferred but it will not prevent the freelancer from getting paid. As a layer of protection for our freelancers, all orders are automatically marked completed 60 days after the order date and funds are released. Please be courteous and mark orders completed as soon as they are finished so freelancers can get paid for their hard work.
